Meditaction sessions at the park are on! Wanna join?

Hello friends,


I hope your week has been kind and generous to you.


It's a warm and sunny Sunday in Geneva, and things are evolving beautifully for Meditaction: yesterday, we have officially started the Meditaction Summer Outdoor Sessions! There were 3 of us (thank you Baptiste and Noor for joining!) and we gathered for about two hours in Parc des Bastions. It was a beautiful and uplifting experience. Let me tell you how this first session was organized:


Part 1: 15 minutes of mindfulness meditation (concentration on the breath) + 15 minutes of loving-kindness meditation


Part 2: 30 minutes generating ideas for positive actions, in 3 steps:

  • Level 1: one positive action for today, which can be a positive action for ourselves or others

  • Level 2: one positive action for the coming week, that has to benefit at least one other person

  • Level 3: one positive action for our lives (no deadline), that has to benefit a greater number of beings, place(s) or situation(s)

The initial session extended itself for about another hour, because a very interesting discussion came to light around some questions concerning the meditation practice itself, but also about what's the meaning of a positive action and what actions are considered to be positive, and about the ideas and actions themselves.


Some conclusions taken from this first session:

  1. It is absolutely inspiring and rewarding to meditate together with other people, and to brainstorm ideas for positive action right after the meditation, which means Meditaction's formula works!

  2. It is not always easy to define what a positive action is: sometimes what is seen as positive by one person, can be seen as negative or dismissive by another. In our latest newsletter, we explained what our vision of a positive action is, so make sure you subscribe to see if you are aligned with it. Perhaps you have a different idea and we would certainly love to hear about it :)

  3. Being a group of 3 was perfect for a first session. But I wonder how impactful these sessions can be if we manage to gather even more hearts and minds! So we happily invite you to join one of our next sessions and to bring along your friends if you think they might have some interest in and benefit from Meditaction!

  4. These sessions are intended to connect people to their hearts so they can better use their minds. And this seemed to have been the major outcome for everyone yesterday, so I felt really happy about it and it definitely made me want to continue offering these sessions :)
