More Women in Leadership Roles: Why Everyone Wins!

women in leadership - Meditaction

Hello community, I hope you are all happy and well! 😊

As a woman leading an entrepreneurial project, and above all, as a human being who is highly committed to driving positive change in society, I am dedicated to help creating a world where diverse voices and perspectives are valued, and where women are recognized as the exceptional leaders they are inherently destined to become.

As I walk this path as a woman entrepreneur, I evolve to become more aware of the unique challenges and opportunities that come with breaking through the traditional gender barriers for women in the world.

For those who question the urgency of concerted efforts to rectify these disparities, I invite you to consider the following contemporary facts concerning gender inequality in leadership positions:"

🙎‍♀️ Women currently serve as the head of government in just 16 of the 193 UN countries

🙎‍ Fewer than 1/3 of UN countries have ever had a woman leader

🙎‍♀️ Just 6 countries in the world have been politically led by more than 2 women

🙎‍♀️ In 2023, women hold only 26.5% of seats in national parliaments globally

🙎‍♀️ In 2023, only 10.4% of Fortune Global 500 Companies are run by women

🙎‍♀️ In 2023, it is estimated that globally, 70% leadership positions in all sectors are hold by men, and the higher the level (CEO and other top positions), the more men there are

At Meditaction, we believe gender alone shouldn’t determine an individual’s leadership abilities. It is not the fact that you are a man, a woman or a non-binary person that will make you a better leader. Even though there is scientific evidence that supports that women make better leaders than men, we continue to believe that women, men and all genders in between, can make outstanding leaders if they develop the necessary skills and human qualities to guide and positively influence others.

But since the numbers show us that there aren't enough women in leadership positions, and being a woman myself, I find it necessary to firmly advocate for more women leaders worldwide, and to promote awareness of this matter. 🙌

Why the world needs more women in leadership roles?

Studies have demonstrated that companies boasting higher representation of women on their boards consistently achieve superior performance compared to those with fewer female board members. Additionally, organizations that prioritize gender diversity in their senior leadership ranks tend to realize greater levels of profitability.

As we evolve into a more inclusive and compassionate society, there is greater evidence that women make exceptional leaders and for a multitude of reasons:

🫴 Women often exhibit a keen sense of intuition, bringing a unique feminine perspective and approach to leadership, which is invaluable in problem-solving and decision-making.

🫴 Their ability to empathize and connect with others fosters collaborative work environments and effective communication, key components of successful leadership.

🫴 Women tend to be adept at multitasking and managing complex situations, performing better than men in stressful situations

🫴 Research suggests that women leaders tend to be more inclusive and open to diverse viewpoints, which leads to better team dynamics and innovative solutions.

🫴 Their resilience and determination in the face of adversity are qualities that inspire and motivate others.

In essence, women leaders contribute significantly to the advancement of organizations and societies, embodying qualities that are not only vital but also transformative in shaping a brighter future for all.

Let's not forget that women are the ones chosen by Nature to carry new human life in their wombs. The ability of women to bear and nurture life highly underscores their capacity to assume leadership roles. Of course not all women decide to give birth, but this unique aspect of their biology naturally equips them with qualities such as patience, empathy, and resilience, which can translate into effective leadership skills.

As individuals and as a collective civilization, it is in our hands to recognize and harness these inherent feminine strengths and to keep making our priority to empower women to excel in leadership positions. For it is the only way we can create a more balanced and peaceful world, where we can all thrive as a species. 🙏🌍

Happy Sunday to all of you!

Love,

💛

Tati

Thank you Dea, for bringing in your insights on this topic. Constructive evolution will only happen when all humans, regardless of gender, will be valued and recognized for their positive actions in their world. And this includes all the amazing things women do! 💜
